He Triumphed over Temptation

This is an extract from: Discover Who You Really Are - by Este Geldenhuys The writer of the letter to the Hebrews reminds us that we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but that our High Priest was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin (Heb 4:15).
In Genesis 4:7 the Lord told Cain that sin ‘lies at the door’! Its desire is for us. And it succeeds: Sometimes the temptation continues too long or we become weak and are swept away.
It is wonderful to know that the One in whom we believe has authority over temptation. No matter how great the temptation or how persistently we are tempted, our Messiah is stronger than all temptation. He has conquered it. In Him we also have victory over temptation.
